Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge: Godzilla with four doors

Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge

Unveiled at 2014 DAS (Detroit Auto Show) there was a sedan concept that was truly mind blowing in design. The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge possessed the design of a serious high performance machine. The Japanese automaker provided as what some would say then, as a spiffed up Maxima. Now though, that story is much more indulgent. When Infinity rolled into Geneva, it came with that same Q50 Eau Rouge, but this time something was a little off. Now instead of just some left over boat anchor bolted under the hood. They placed in some sort of fire breathing, pissed off, look at me, Fukashima reactor bred, 3.8 liter V6 in all of its splendor and bravado.

If you thought Nissan GTR. Than you’ve guessed right. The guys over at Infiniti did a heart transplant straight from Godzilla himself and created a Frankenstein like beast. While utilized in the Q50 Eau Rouge, the 3.8liter V6 will produce 560HP with 443 lb-ft out to all four corners. So if you’ve guessed correct again then you would know that the Q50 Eau Rouge has the same AWD system from the Nissan GTR. That will give the Q50 Eau Rouge a 0-60mph time in less than 4 seconds topping out at 180mph. So what do I say to that; “Oh yes, Oh yes indeed”!

While the Q50 Eau Rouge is still in its development stages, they have also announced other power plants that might be offered. Including a hybrid high output performance diesel/electric combination. Either way a four door GTR is something to behold in all of it glorious grandeur. With any luck, the suites over at Infiniti will let this concept see the green light of day sending it off to full production. Until then, I will continue to pray to the baby Jesus to bring us the Q50 Eau Rouge.
